Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions in INOTEKS are based only on the scholarly merit of the work and its relevance to the journal's scope.
- Decisions are never influenced by the authors' nationality, ethnicity, religion, gender, political beliefs, institution, or seniority.
- The publisher, the university, funders, and any other organisation have no say in decisions on individual manuscripts.
- Editors resist commercial, organisational, political, and geopolitical pressure. Attempts to influence a decision are recorded and reported to the Editor-in-Chief or, if necessary, the publisher.
- The APC is requested only after acceptance, and payments and waivers are handled by administrative staff, not editors, so payment plays no part in any decision. Editors receive no payment linked to the number of articles accepted or published.
- Editors with a conflict of interest do not handle the manuscript (see Editorial Competing Interests).
