Duplicate & Redundant Publication

Manuscripts submitted to INOTEKS must not have been published, or be under consideration, elsewhere.

  • Duplicate publication: publishing the same work, or substantially the same findings, in more than one place.
  • Redundant or "salami" publication: splitting one study into several minimal articles.
  • Simultaneous submission: submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal at a time.
  • Translations: a translation of a work already published in another language is considered only with the permission of the original publisher and full disclosure; it must cite the original and be clearly identified as a translation.

Conference abstracts, theses, and preprints do not count as prior publication, but must be disclosed at submission. Duplicate publication is handled under the Plagiarism Policy & Screening and may lead to retraction.
