Post Publication Discussions and Corrections

JSD welcomes scholarly discussion of its published articles as part of the self-correcting nature of science. Readers who wish to comment on, question or challenge a published article have three options.

Write to the Editor

Email jsd@uny.ac.id, citing the article's DOI and explaining the concern with supporting evidence.

Letter to the Editor

A short scientific commentary (max. [1,000] words, max. [10] references), submitted within [12] months of the article's publication.

PubPeer

Comment publicly on PubPeer, which the editors monitor.

How Comments Are Handled

1

Screening — The editor checks whether the comment is substantive, scientific and relevant.

2

Author reply — Substantive comments are forwarded to the authors, who are given [30] days to respond.

3

Decision — The editor decides whether to take no action, publish the letter with the authors' reply, or start a correction, expression of concern or retraction.

4

Publication — Published letters and replies are linked to the original article.

Corrections Requested by Authors

Authors who discover an error in their published article should contact the editor immediately. The editor will decide whether a corrigendum is needed (see Correction & Retraction).

Code of conduct: Comments must be constructive, respectful and focused on the science. Personal attacks, defamatory statements and comments without evidence are not accepted.
