Correction and Retraction

JSD maintains the integrity of the scholarly record. Once published, an article is never changed silently; any change is made through a formal, linked and citable notice following the COPE Retraction Guidelines.

Types of Notice

Notice When it is used What happens
Erratum An error introduced by the journal during production A notice is published and linked to the article
Corrigendum An honest error by the authors that affects part of the article but not its main conclusions A correction notice is published and linked to the article
Expression of Concern Evidence of possible misconduct while an investigation is ongoing or inconclusive A notice is published and linked to the article until the case is resolved
Retraction Unreliable findings due to major error or misconduct, plagiarism, duplicate publication, or unethical research A retraction notice is published; the article stays online with a "RETRACTED" watermark
Removal Only for legal infringement, defamation or a serious risk to health The article is removed and a notice explains why

Procedure

1

Request — Authors, readers or editors report an error or concern to jsd@uny.ac.id, citing the DOI.

2

Assessment — The editor assesses the issue and consults the authors and, where needed, the reviewers.

3

Decision — The Editor-in-Chief decides on the type of notice.

4

Publication — The notice is published in the next issue, linked to the original article, and registered with Crossref.

Retraction Notice Content

  • The title and authors of the retracted article.
  • The reason for retraction and who initiated it.
  • The date of retraction.
  • A statement that the notice is freely accessible.

Please note: Minor typographical errors that do not affect the meaning are not corrected. Authors who find a significant error in their published article must notify the editor promptly.
