All manuscripts must be prepared using the official JSD template. Manuscripts that are not prepared with the template will be returned to the authors without review.

Blind-review version without names, affiliations, acknowledgements, funding or any other identifying information. Upload this file as the main manuscript.

What the Template Contains

  • Ready-made styles for the title, authors, affiliations, abstract, headings, body text, tables, figures and references.
  • Grey italic filling instructions under every section heading.
  • Yellow-highlighted placeholders in square brackets, e.g., [Paper Title], [Keyword 1].
  • Back-matter sections: Acknowledgements, Funding, Author Contributions, Conflict of Interest, Data Availability, Ethical Approval, Generative AI declaration and Supplementary Materials.
  • APA 7th reference patterns for journal articles, books, chapters, proceedings, theses and webpages.

How to Use the Template

Download — Download both template files and save them under your own file names.

Write — Replace each highlighted [placeholder] with your content. Paste text using Paste Special › Unformatted Text so the styles are kept.

Clean — Delete all grey italic instructions and the example references.

Anonymise — For the anonymous version, check that no names, affiliations or identifying details remain, and remove personal data from the file properties (File › Info › Check for Issues › Inspect Document).

Check — Make sure the manuscript is no longer than 15 pages and all tables and figures are cited in the text.
