A peer-reviewed, open-access journal publishing original research in mathematics, chemistry, physics, and biology. Published twice a year (April and October) by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

◉  Focus and Scope

J. Sains Dasar publishes original theoretical, experimental, and empirical research in the basic sciences, judged on novelty and quality:

  • Mathematics: pure and applied mathematics, statistics, modelling, and computational mathematics.
  • Chemistry: analytical, physical, organic, inorganic, biochemistry, environmental,  and materials chemistry.
  • Physics: theoretical, computational, and materials physics, optics, instrumentation, geophysics, and medical physics.
  • Biology: cell and molecular biology, microbiology, genetics, ecology, physiology, biotechnology.

 

⌚  History of the Journal
  • 2012: first issue published in April with p-ISSN 2085-9872.
  • 2014: e-ISSN 2443-1273 registered; J. Sains Dasar became an open-access journal.
  • 2023: eight articles per issue; scope limited to theoretical, experimental, and empirical results.
  • 2026: new manuscript template with APA Style 7th edition.

J. Sains Dasar provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. Readers may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, and link to the full texts without charge, in line with the Budapest Open Access Initiative.

▣  Archiving (LOCKSS / CLOCKSS)

J. Sains Dasar uses the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. Content is also preserved through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), the [Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta repository], and indexing services such as Garuda and Google Scholar.
