Data Availability and Reproducibility Policy
Efisiensi: Kajian Ilmu Administrasi supports open, transparent, and reproducible research. This policy explains what authors must state about the data, instruments, and materials behind their articles, and how these can be shared while protecting research participants and organisations. It follows the COPE Core Practice on data and reproducibility and the 2026 national journal accreditation guidelines.
In brief. Every article includes a Data Availability Statement · data are shared as openly as possible and as closely as necessary · personal and confidential data are never published · editors and reviewers may ask to see the data during review.
1. Data Availability Statement
Every article must include a Data Availability Statement in the Declarations section (Title Page and Anonymised Manuscript). The statement explains where the data supporting the findings can be found and under what conditions. Examples:
- “The data that support the findings of this study are openly available in [repository] at https://doi.org/[DOI].”
- “The questionnaire and anonymised survey data are available from the corresponding author on reasonable request.”
- “The interview data are not publicly available because they contain information that could compromise the privacy of participants; anonymised excerpts are available from the corresponding author on reasonable request.”
- “Data sharing is not applicable to this article as no new data were created or analysed.” (conceptual articles)
2. What should be shared
- Quantitative studies: the anonymised dataset, the questionnaire or instrument, and the analysis code or syntax (for example SPSS, SmartPLS, R, or Python).
- Qualitative studies: the interview or observation guide and the coding framework; transcripts only in anonymised form and with participants' consent.
- Development (R&D) studies: the product specification, validation instruments, and expert or user assessment data.
- Systematic reviews: the search strings, the PRISMA 2020 flow diagram, and the list of included studies with extraction tables.
Authors are encouraged to deposit data in a recognised repository that issues persistent identifiers, such as an institutional repository, Zenodo, Figshare, OSF, or Mendeley Data, and to cite the dataset in the reference list. Supplementary files can also be uploaded in OJS at submission as Data Set or Research Instrument.
3. Ethics, privacy, and confidentiality
- Data that identify participants, students, employees, or organisations that asked not to be named must be anonymised or withheld.
- Sharing must be consistent with the informed consent given by participants and with any ethics approval.
- Data owned by third parties, or covered by confidentiality agreements or intellectual property rights, may be withheld; the statement must explain why and how access can be requested.
4. During peer review
Editors and reviewers may ask authors to provide the data, instruments, or analysis files to check the reported results. Requests are made through OJS and the files are treated as confidential. Failure to provide data without a valid reason may lead to rejection.
5. After publication
- Authors must keep the raw data for at least five years after publication and provide them if questions arise about the findings.
- Concerns about data are handled under the Research Misconduct and Correction and Retraction policies.
