Peer Review Process

Overview

All research articles in Jurnal Pendidikan Teknologi dan Kejuruan (JPTK) are peer reviewed. The journal follows the COPE Core Practices and the COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers.

Model	Single-blind: reviewers know the identity of the authors, but authors do not know the identity of the reviewers
Reviewers	At least two independent experts per manuscript
Time to decision	A decision, or an explanation of any delay, within 2 months of receipt
Revision	Revised manuscripts are due within 2 weeks of the decision
Final decision	Made by the Principal Editors

The process

Editorial office check. The editor assesses whether the manuscript fits the Focus & Scope and checks for major flaws in the method.
Similarity check. The manuscript is checked with similarity-detection software. See the Plagiarism Policy.
Format and submission check. Manuscripts that do not meet the submission requirements, are incorrectly formatted, or cannot be opened may be returned without a scholarly assessment.
Manuscript Readiness Level (MRL) assessment. The Principal Editor checks whether the manuscript is ready for review.
Peer review. A Principal or Associate Editor oversees the review by at least two independent experts. See Reviewer Selection and Reviewer Guidelines.
Decision. The Principal Editors decide, on the basis of the reviews. See Editorial Decisions and Revision.
Revision. If revision is invited, the corresponding author submits the revised manuscript within 2 weeks.

Rejection without review

A manuscript may be rejected without review if its content is insufficient, it is too long, it is incorrectly formatted, or it is poorly presented or unclear. Manuscripts that do not follow the Author Guidelines are not processed further.

What the editors look for

Contribution, originality, relevance to TVET, and presentation.

Confidentiality and integrity

Reviewer comments are confidential and are disclosed only with the express agreement of the reviewer. See Peer Review Confidentiality.
