Policy

Jurnal Pendidikan Teknologi dan Kejuruan (JPTK) follows the COPE Core Practice on ethical oversight. Authors are responsible for conducting and reporting their research in line with the ethical standards of their institution, their country, and their discipline. Research in TVET often involves students, teachers, trainers, workers, and industry partners, so research involving people requires informed consent and, where applicable, ethical approval.

Research with people

Where ethical approval is required, state in the Method section the name of the ethics committee or institutional review body and the approval number.
If approval was not required, say why.
State how informed consent was obtained, including consent from parents or guardians for students under 18.
Protect the privacy and confidentiality of participants. Do not publish names, photographs, recordings, or details that could identify a person without that person’s consent for publication.

Schools, workplaces, and industry partners

Obtain permission from the school, training centre, company, or workplace where the research takes place.
Do not identify an institution or a company without its permission, and do not publish confidential business information.
Take care that participation is voluntary, especially where the researcher is the teacher, trainer, or supervisor of the participants.

Vulnerable groups

Research with children, people with disabilities, people who cannot give consent freely, and other vulnerable groups needs particular care about consent, pressure, risk, and privacy.

Checks by the editors

The editors may ask for the approval details or the consent information, and may ask the institution or seek expert advice if they doubt that the research was ethical. A published article can be corrected, given an expression of concern, or retracted if serious ethical problems are found. See Publication Ethics and Retraction, Withdrawal & Correction.
