Generative AI Policy

Policy

Jurnal Pendidikan Teknologi dan Kejuruan (JPTK) follows the COPE position statement on authorship and AI tools. Generative AI tools can help authors, but they cannot replace the judgement and responsibility of the authors.

Authors

  • AI tools cannot be listed as authors, because they cannot take responsibility for the work. See Authorship Policies.
  • Authors may use AI tools for language editing and for technical help, with human oversight. Authors check the output and are responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the whole article.
  • Substantive use of AI, for example to write or rewrite text, to analyse data, or to make figures, must be disclosed in the Method section or in the acknowledgements, with the name of the tool and the purpose. Routine spelling and grammar checks need no disclosure.
  • Do not use AI to produce data, results, references, or images that are presented as research evidence, unless the use is part of a method that is described in full.
  • Check every reference produced or suggested by an AI tool, because such tools can invent sources.

Reviewers and editors

Reviewers and editors must not upload manuscripts or reviews to AI tools, and must not use AI to make an assessment or a decision. See AI in Peer Review.

If the policy is not followed

Undisclosed or misleading use of AI is handled under Publication Ethics. A manuscript can be rejected, and a published article can be corrected or retracted. See Retraction, Withdrawal & Correction.
