From submission to publication

  1. Submission. The author submits online, following the Author Guidelines and the article template.
  2. Screening. The editorial office checks the scope, the method, the similarity of the text, and the format. Manuscripts that do not meet the requirements may be returned or rejected without review.
  3. Readiness assessment. The Principal Editor makes the Manuscript Readiness Level (MRL) assessment.
  4. Review. A Principal or Associate Editor sends the manuscript to at least two independent reviewers, in a single-blind review.
  5. Decision. The Principal Editors decide, within 2 months of receipt where possible. See Editorial Decisions and Revision.
  6. Revision. The author submits the revised manuscript within 2 weeks. The editors check it and may send it to the reviewers again.
  7. Production. Accepted manuscripts are copyedited, typeset, and proofread, and published online with a DOI (prefix 10.21831). See Journal Business Model for the fees that apply after acceptance.
  8. Publication. Articles appear in the May or October issue. See Publishing Frequency.
