Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

What the journal publishes

Jurnal Pendidikan Teknologi dan Kejuruan (JPTK) publishes research papers, review papers, and literature reviews on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). Manuscripts must be original work, either research or reference studies, that has never been published in any form. See Focus & Scope and Types of Manuscript.

Language and template

Manuscripts are written in standard English and follow the article template of the journal.

Submitting

  • Submit the manuscript as a .doc or .rtf file through the online system.
  • Register if you do not have an account yet, or log in if you already have one, and then go to Online Submission.
  • The corresponding author enters the details of every author in the submission form: email, affiliation, and a short biography in the Bio Statement field. For two or more authors, click “Add Author” in step 3, “Enter Metadata”, and enter the data of each author.
  • The Bio Statement is written as a short narrative with the full name, place and date of birth, educational background, current affiliation, phone number, and email address of the author.

Writing format

Title No more than 15 words, and an accurate description of the content.
Abstract 150–250 words in one paragraph. Clear, informative, and descriptive, with a statement of the problem, the proposed approach or solution, and the major findings and conclusions.
Keywords Important, specific, or representative words or phrases.
Introduction A clear background, a statement of the problem, the relevant literature, the proposed approach or solution, the new value of the research, and, at the end, the purpose of the study.
Method The research in chronological order: research design, procedures, instruments, and the analysis techniques used.
Results and Discussion An objective description of the results, related to the purposes of the research.
References At least 20 of the most pertinent and up-to-date sources. At least 60% of them from reputable international journals published within the last five years.
Length No more than 20 pages. An additional fee of IDR 500,000 is charged for each page beyond 20.

Submission checklist

  1. The manuscript has not been published before and is not under consideration by another journal (or an explanation is given in the Comments to the Editor).
  2. The file is in .doc or .rtf format and follows the template.
  3. URLs are given for the references where available.
  4. The text is single-spaced, in a 12-point font, with italics instead of underlining (except URLs), and figures and tables are placed within the text.
  5. The manuscript follows these guidelines.

Peer review and fees
