Data Policy

Policy

Jurnal Pendidikan Teknologi dan Kejuruan (JPTK) encourages open and transparent research. Authors should make the data and materials behind their findings available where this is possible and appropriate, and should describe their methods in enough detail for others to follow and check them. The journal follows the COPE Core Practice on data and reproducibility.

Data availability statement

Authors are encouraged to include a data availability statement that says where the data and materials can be found, or why they cannot be shared. Ways to share include:

  • A deposit in a trusted repository, with a persistent identifier such as a DOI.
  • The data in the article or in supplementary files.
  • Availability on reasonable request, with a reason why open sharing is not possible.

Data that cannot be shared

  • Data that could identify students, teachers, workers, or other participants, or that are covered by consent or ethical conditions, are not shared in a way that breaks them. See the Ethical Clearance Statement.
  • Confidential data of schools, training centres, or companies are shared only with their permission.
  • Third-party data under a licence or a restriction are cited, with the source and the conditions.

Reproducibility

  • Describe the research design, procedures, instruments, and analysis techniques in the Method section, in chronological order, as the Author Guidelines require.
  • Where possible, share the instruments, such as questionnaires, tests, and observation sheets, and the analysis steps or code.
  • Cite datasets and software in the references.

Concerns

The editors may ask for the data or for an explanation if there are doubts about the findings. Serious problems with data can lead to a correction, an expression of concern, or a retraction. See Retraction, Withdrawal & Correction.
