Journal Policies
Publication Ethics
Statement
Ethnomathematics Journal is committed to ethical publishing. The journal follows the COPE Core Practices and expects editors, authors, reviewers, and the publisher to meet the standards below. The publisher is Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, in cooperation with the Ethnomath Association.
Authors
- Report original work honestly, with accurate data, and do not fabricate, falsify, or misrepresent results.
- Do not plagiarise, and do not publish the same work twice. See the Plagiarism Policy and Duplicate and Redundant Publication.
- Credit all who contributed and cite the work of others. See Authorship Policies.
- Follow the rules for research ethics, consent, and community knowledge. See the Ethical Clearance Statement.
- Declare competing interests, funding, and the use of generative AI. See Conflict of Interest and Generative AI Policy.
- Share data where possible. See Research Data and Reproducibility.
- Tell the editor promptly about any significant error in a published work, and cooperate with the correction. See Correction, Retraction and Withdrawal.
Editors
- Decide on scholarly merit alone, and protect the independence of the journal. See Editorial Independence.
- Keep manuscripts and reviews confidential, and declare competing interests. See Editorial Competing Interests.
- Take reports of misconduct seriously and follow the COPE flowcharts. See Research Misconduct.
Reviewers
- Review fairly, within their expertise, and keep the manuscript confidential. See Reviewer Guidelines.
- Declare competing interests and do not use AI tools on the manuscript. See AI in Peer Review.
Publisher
The publisher supports the journal and respects its editorial independence, and supports the long-term preservation of the articles. See Archiving.
Reporting a concern
Anyone can report a concern about the ethics of the journal or of a manuscript to ethnomath@uny.ac.id, with the evidence. Concerns are handled confidentially, in line with the COPE guidance. See Research Misconduct and Post-Publication Discussion.
