Editor Submissions

Policy

Editors, editorial board members, and staff of Ethnomathematics Journal may submit their own work to the journal. Such submissions must not be treated better than others. The journal follows the COPE guidance on editors as authors.

How these manuscripts are handled

  • The author declares at submission that the manuscript is from an editor or board member.
  • The editor concerned has no part in the handling of the manuscript: does not choose reviewers, does not see the reports, and does not take part in the decision.
  • The manuscript is handled by another editor, who has no link with the author. If the author is the Editor-in-Chief, a different editor, or an outside editor, is in charge. See Editorial Competing Interests.
  • The manuscript is reviewed by the usual double-blind process. See the Peer Review Process.
  • Editors do not use their access to the system to see the status of their own manuscript, or to see who the reviewers are.

Standards

  • The manuscript is judged by the same standards, and is rejected if it does not meet them.
  • Acceptance does not depend on the position of the author.
  • The published article states that one of the authors is an editor of the journal, and that the review was handled independently.
