Journal History
Ethnomathematics Journal was established in 2020 by lecturers in mathematics education at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, in collaboration with the Ethnomath Association. The first issue was published in March 2020, initially accepting manuscripts written in Bahasa Indonesia. With the strengthening of its editorial and managerial board, the journal subsequently began publishing articles in English to reach a broader international readership and enhance scholarly dissemination.
Since 2021, the journal has been published biannually, issuing two editions each year. In 2024, Ethnomathematics Journal received national accreditation from the Ministry of Higher Education, marking an important milestone in its development.
The journal is committed to publishing high-quality scientific contributions aligned with its aims and vision. Moving forward, Ethnomathematics Journal aspires to achieve international recognition by strengthening publication quality, expanding global collaboration, and pursuing inclusion in reputable international indexing databases worldwide.
