Authorship Policies

DIMENSIA: Jurnal Kajian Sosiologi is committed to maintaining integrity, transparency, and accountability in authorship. Authorship should reflect meaningful intellectual contribution to the manuscript and shared responsibility for the content of the published work.

1. Authorship Criteria

Individuals listed as authors should meet all of the following criteria:

  • Have made a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the study, data collection, data analysis, or interpretation of findings.
  • Have participated in drafting the manuscript or revising it critically for important intellectual content.
  • Have approved the final version of the manuscript before submission and publication.
  • Agree to be accountable for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of the work.

2. Corresponding Author Responsibilities

The corresponding author is responsible for managing communication with the editorial office and ensuring that all listed authors have reviewed and approved the manuscript. The corresponding author should also ensure that:

  • All authors meet the authorship criteria.
  • No qualified contributor has been omitted.
  • All authors agree on the order of authorship.
  • All information submitted to the journal is accurate and complete.

3. Author Contribution Statement

Authors are encouraged to clearly describe their respective contributions to the manuscript. Contribution statements improve transparency and help clarify each author’s role in the research and writing process.

Example:

Author A: conceptualization, methodology, writing original draft.
Author B: data collection, formal analysis, writing review & editing.
Author C: supervision, validation, final approval of the manuscript.

4. Acknowledgment of Non-Author Contributions

Individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet the authorship criteria should not be listed as authors. Their assistance may be recognized in the acknowledgment section. This may include technical support, language editing, administrative assistance, or general supervision.

5. Authorship Integrity

DIMENSIA does not permit inappropriate authorship practices. All listed authors must have contributed substantially to the manuscript and must take public responsibility for its content.

  • Guest or Gift Authorship: listing individuals who did not make a substantial contribution is not acceptable.
  • Ghost Authorship: excluding individuals who made substantial contributions is not acceptable.
  • Any misleading statement regarding authorship may result in editorial action, including manuscript rejection or correction after publication.

6. Final Approval

Before submission, all authors must review and approve the final manuscript version. By submitting the manuscript, the corresponding author confirms that all co-authors have agreed to the content, authorship listing, and submission of the manuscript to DIMENSIA.

Note

Requests for changes to authorship after submission or publication are subject to editorial review and should be addressed according to the journal’s policy on Authorship Changes & Disputes.
