Authorship Changes & Disputes
Guidelines for authorship modifications, dispute resolution, and editorial decisions.
DIMENSIA: Jurnal Kajian Sosiologi expects authorship information to be accurate at the time of submission. Any request to add, remove, or rearrange authors must be supported by a clear explanation and the agreement of all authors concerned. Authorship changes are subject to editorial review to maintain transparency, accountability, and publication integrity.
Before Submission
Initial Authorship Arrangement
Before submission, all authors must agree on the authorship list, order, and corresponding author designation. The corresponding author should ensure that every listed author meets the authorship criteria and that no qualified contributor has been omitted.
Changes After Submission
Addition, Removal, or Rearrangement of Authors
Requests to add, remove, or reorder authors after submission must be communicated to the editorial office by the corresponding author. Requests must include a written explanation and agreement from all authors concerned, including any author being added or removed.
Changes After Acceptance or Publication
Exceptional Circumstances
Authorship changes after acceptance or publication are generally discouraged and will only be considered when justified. Approved post-publication changes may require a correction notice or other appropriate editorial action to maintain the accuracy of the scholarly record.
Authorship Disputes
Disagreement Among Authors
Authorship disputes should first be resolved by the authors and their respective institutions. DIMENSIA does not determine individual contributions in disputed cases. The editorial office may suspend manuscript processing until appropriate clarification or institutional resolution is obtained.
Required Documentation
Supporting Confirmation
The editorial office may request the following documents:
- A written explanation for the requested change.
- Written agreement from all authors.
- Confirmation from any author being added or removed.
- An updated author contribution statement.
Editorial Decision
Review and Editorial Action
The editorial team evaluates authorship change requests based on the explanation and supporting documentation provided. Depending on the circumstances, DIMENSIA may approve or decline the request, seek further clarification, suspend manuscript processing, or publish an appropriate correction notice.
Related Policy
This policy should be read together with the journal's Authorship Policies and Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement . Authors are encouraged to ensure that authorship information is complete and accurate before submission to avoid delays in editorial processing.
