Author Guidelines

DIMENSIA: Jurnal Kajian Sosiologi welcomes original scholarly contributions in Sociology and Sociology Education. Authors must prepare their manuscripts according to the journal's guidelines, publication ethics, and manuscript template. Submissions that do not comply with these requirements may be returned for revision.

1. General Requirements

  • Manuscript Types: Original Research Articles and Review Articles in accordance with the journal's Focus and Scope.
  • Originality: Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
  • Length: 4,000–6,000 words on A4-size paper.
  • Language: Indonesian or English.
  • Abstract: Approximately 150 words in Indonesian and English, accompanied by 3–5 relevant keywords.
  • Author Information: Full names, institutional affiliations, addresses, and corresponding author information.
  • Formatting: Follow the official journal template. Accepted file formats include Microsoft Word, OpenOffice, RTF, and WordPerfect.

2. Manuscript Structure

Original Research Articles should generally contain the following sections:

  1. Title and Author Information
  2. Abstract and Keywords
  3. Introduction: Background, relevant literature, research gap, and objectives.
  4. Research Methods: Research design, data collection, and analysis procedures.
  5. Results and Discussion: Research findings, interpretation, and theoretical relevance.
  6. Conclusion: Main findings and research contributions.
  7. References: Sources cited in the manuscript.

Review Articles may follow an adapted structure appropriate to the review methodology, including a clear explanation of literature selection and synthesis.

3. Citation and References

All manuscripts must follow the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th edition citation style. References must be arranged alphabetically, include at least 15 scholarly sources, and comply with the journal's requirement concerning reference recency (maximum 10 years). Authors are encouraged to use Mendeley or Zotero.

Examples of In-Text Citations

Single Author: Saputra (2025) or (Saputra, 2025).

Two Authors: Hendrastomo and Januarti (2023) or (Hendrastomo & Januarti, 2023).

Three or More Authors: Indrahadi et al. (2021) or (Indrahadi et al., 2021).

Direct Quotation: (Author, Year, p. xx). Replace "xx" with the actual page number.

4. Publication Ethics

Authors must comply with academic integrity and publication ethics standards. Plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, and duplicate publication are prohibited. Research involving human participants must ensure informed consent, privacy, and confidentiality. Ethical approval must be obtained where required by applicable regulations. Authors must disclose relevant conflicts of interest.

5. Submission Procedure

Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the DIMENSIA Online Journal Systems (OJS). Authors are required to:

  1. Register or log in to the OJS account.
  2. Prepare the manuscript using the official template.
  3. Upload the manuscript and complete the required metadata.
  4. Review and confirm the submission.
  5. Monitor the editorial and peer-review process through OJS.

All manuscripts undergo editorial screening and peer review. Submission does not guarantee acceptance or publication.
