Special Issues

Special Issues Policy  ·  Jurnal Civics
Same standards, every issue.
How special issues, guest editors, and conference papers are handled.
01Current practice▾
Jurnal Civics does not currently publish special issues or conference proceedings. If it does in future, the rules below apply and the issue is announced on this site.
02Guest editors▾
—  Guest editors are appointed by the Editor-in-Chief after a written proposal and a check of their expertise and conflicts of interest.
—  Guest editors are named with their affiliations on the issue page.
—  A guest editor may not handle a manuscript on which they are an author or have a conflict; such manuscripts are handled by a regular editor.
—  Guest editors receive the same training as regular editors.
03Decisions▾
—  Every manuscript in a special issue goes through the normal double-anonymous peer review.
—  The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief, not by the guest editor.
—  Guest editors may not publish their own articles in the special issue they edit.
04Conference papers▾
—  Papers from conferences are treated as new submissions and are peer reviewed as usual.
—  Publication in Jurnal Civics is never guaranteed as part of a conference fee.
