Correction & Retraction Policy
Jurnal Penelitian Ilmu Pendidikan (JPIP) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. The journal addresses errors and ethical concerns in published articles through corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions, following the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
1. Correction Policy
Corrections may be issued when errors are identified in published articles but the main findings and conclusions remain reliable.
Corrections may include inaccurate information, errors in tables or figures, incorrect author details, or other mistakes requiring clarification.
The editorial team evaluates reported errors and determines whether a formal correction notice is necessary.
2. Retraction Policy
Retraction may be considered when published research contains serious errors or ethical violations that undermine the reliability or integrity of the article.
Reasons for retraction may include:
-
Fabrication or falsification of research data.
-
Plagiarism or substantial unattributed duplication.
-
Duplicate or redundant publication.
-
Serious violations of research ethics.
-
Major errors that invalidate research findings.
-
Manipulation of the peer review or publication process.
3. Expression of Concern
An expression of concern may be issued when serious questions arise regarding a published article, but available evidence is inconclusive or an investigation is ongoing.
4. Editorial Investigation and Decision
Reports of errors or suspected misconduct are assessed by the editorial team based on available evidence.
Authors should be given an opportunity to respond to concerns. When necessary, the editorial team may consult independent experts or relevant institutions.
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final editorial decision based on the evidence and applicable publication ethics principles.
5. Publication of Notices
Correction and retraction notices should clearly identify the affected article, explain the reasons for the editorial action, and remain publicly accessible.
Retracted articles should be clearly identified and linked to their retraction notices to maintain transparency in the scholarly record.
6. Commitment to Publication Integrity
JPIP is committed to protecting the credibility of published research. Corrections and retractions are intended to maintain the integrity of scholarly literature rather than to punish authors.
This policy should be read alongside JPIP's Publication Ethics, Research Misconduct Policy, and Plagiarism Policy.
