Jurnal Penelitian Ilmu Pendidikan is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published by the Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. The journal focuses on advancing and sharing rigorous educational research that enhances both theoretical discussions and evidence-based practices in various regional and global settings.

The journal focuses on publishing original research that tackles significant issues in education across all levels—from early childhood to higher education and lifelong learning. We prioritize manuscripts that demonstrate methodological robustness, analytical clarity, and a strong connection to contemporary educational challenges.

Thematic Scope:

We invite submissions in, but not limited to, the following specific areas of educational science:

  1. Pedagogy and Curriculum Development: Innovations in teaching and learning strategies, curriculum design and evaluation, differentiated instruction, and 21st-century skills development.

  2. Educational Technology and Digital Transformation: The integration of AI in education, blended and online learning environments, learning analytics, and the digital divide in educational settings.

  3. Educational Policy, Leadership, and Management: Analysis of educational reform, school improvement strategies, higher education governance, and quality assurance systems.

  4. Teacher Professional Development: Pre-service and in-service teacher education, teacher identity, professional learning communities, and instructional coaching.

  5. Inclusive and Special Needs Education: Access and equity in education, inclusive pedagogy, policies for marginalized groups, and support systems for students with diverse learning needs.

  6. Assessment, Measurement, and Evaluation: Development and validation of educational instruments, psychometric analysis, classroom-based assessment, and large-scale educational surveys.

  7. Sociology and Psychology of Education: Educational resilience, student well-being, school climate, family involvement, and socio-emotional learning.

  8. Vocational and Non-Formal Education: Link and match between vocational training and industry, community-based education, and adult learning frameworks.

Article Types:
The journal welcomes a variety of submissions, including empirical research papers (quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods), systematic literature reviews, meta-analyses, and critical case studies. Special emphasis is placed on contributions that address Sustainable Development Goal 4, which focuses on quality education.

All articles published in the Jurnal Penelitian Ilmu Pendidikan (JPIP) are fully open access. To provide free access for readers, enhance our journal management system, and cover the costs of peer review, copyediting, long-term archiving, and journal operations, starting in 2025, an article processing charge (APC) of IDR 1,000,000 will apply to papers accepted after peer review.
