Author Guidelines
The Manuscripts
The manuscripts should be an original research paper that sufficiently contributes novelty to social science education. Authors are requested to submit their papers electronically by using the Jurnal Penelitian Ilmu Pendidikan online submission procedure. The editors will ignore submission that do not follow these procedures.
General Guideline
- The article has never been published before.
- Result-based research is prioritized for publication.
- The article consists of 10-15 pages or consists of 4000-7000 words, and it must be written in an A4 paper, using Times New Roman 11-size, and single-line spacing format.
- The article must be written in Microsoft Word.
- The article has no typos.
- The article has no plagiarism.
- The article is written in the form of an essay in which it has no dot points and numbering.
- It does not use a footnote or endnote but a running note and uses APA (American Psychological Association).
Title
- The title is written in dual languages: Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- The title is written in upper and lowercase letters centered in the upper half of the page.
- The title in Bahasa Indonesia must not exceed 13 words, whereas the title in English must not exceed 13 words and should not contain abbreviations or terms that serve no purpose.
- The title must mention the results of the study.
- There must be no subheading, and the title may take up one or two lines.
- The title is written in Times New Roman 16, Bold, justify.
- The initial letter of every word in the title must be capitalized.
Name of author and institution of the author
- The author’s name is completely written without an academic title or indication of position and stratification.
- The author can be an individual or a team. All the authors should be listed.
- Write the author(s)’s institutional affiliation and email address below the title.
Abstract
- The abstract is written in dual languages; those are Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- The abstract must be written between 150 – 200 words in English and 150 – 300 in Bahasa Indonesia.
- The abstract must be written in one paragraph only, encompassing the background, the purpose of the study, methods, results, and conclusion.
Keyword
- Keywords must be written in dual languages: Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- Write words or terms that reflect the concept within the articles.
- It may consist of several words/terms.
- Keywords are written under the abstract with a distance of one line and are italicized.
Introduction
- The introduction consists of the background, the purpose of the study, and the research urgency.
- A statement of the problem and/ or hypothesis must not be written as a subheading but as a research question integrated into a paragraph, or part of the introduction.
Methods
- Practical methods.
- It comprises research type/approach, location, population and sample, sampling drawing techniques, data collection techniques, and data analysis techniques.
Results and Discussion
- This section explains the results of the study. It should be presented clearly and concisely. The author (s) should explore the work's novelty or contribution to social science education.
- All tables, graphics, and figures are thoroughly discussed and placed in the center, and appropriate interpretations are highly desirable (description is not repetitive from tables, graphics, and figures).
- Tables use three horizontal lines, size of the table and illustrations should be adjusted to the size of the paper.
- Tables and graphics are made in the format of MS Word/Excel.
- The name of tables and figures should follow a numbering system (Arabic numbering system). The title of the tables and figures are placed at the top and the bottom, respectively.
Conclusion
- The conclusion does not repeat what has been discussed in the results section.
References
- References written must be cited in writing.
- Referring to any textbook should be minimized (<20%).
- Book citation is at least from the last 10-year publication, whereas, for journals, it is at least from the previous 5-year publications.
- The manuscript will involve approximately 15-25 primary and up-to-date references to assert high-quality contributions to knowledge development.
- Citations and references must follow the APA 7 ed. (American Psychological Association) style. Consulting the APA style manual (http://www.apastyle.org/pubmanual.html) is strongly recommended for completing manuscript submissions.
- Use Reference Management Software
Citation
Citation in the text should be written using the family name and years of publication. Example:
- Hill (2019) suggests that the objective of depreciation is ....
- Inflation targeting would be sufficient (McCain, 2022).
- The definition of contagion is ... (Herwin, 2018; Lee 2019).
- The authors are recommended to use Mendeley Reference Software.
Authorship
- Filling in the statement form of responsibility upon all content of the article.
- Signing the statement that the article is not being proposed to another journal and will not be submitted to another journal during the editing and reviewing process by JPIP.
- Signing the statement of plagiarism free.
- The editorial staff can edit the article without changing the author's content and main idea.

Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
- If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
- Authors must provide active phone numbers in the registration form, for urgent communication if required.
