Ethical Clearance Statement

Policy

Diklus: Jurnal Pendidikan Luar Sekolah follows the COPE Core Practice on ethical oversight. Authors are responsible for conducting and reporting their research in line with the ethical standards of their institution, their country, and their discipline.

Research with people

  • Where ethical approval is required, state in the Method section the name of the ethics committee or institutional review body and the approval number. If approval was not required, say why.
  • State how informed consent was obtained from participants, and from parents or guardians for children.
  • Protect the privacy and confidentiality of participants. Do not publish names, photographs, recordings, or details that could identify a person without that person’s consent for publication.

Communities and programmes

  • Obtain permission from the community learning centre, programme, organisation, or community leaders where the research takes place.
  • Take care that participation is voluntary, especially where the researcher is the facilitator, tutor, or programme manager of the participants.
  • Take particular care with vulnerable groups, such as children, older people, people with disabilities, and marginalised communities.

Checks by the editors

The editors may ask for the approval or consent details, and may contact the institution if they doubt that the research was ethical. A published article can be corrected, given an expression of concern, or retracted if serious ethical problems are found. See Correction, Retraction and Withdrawal.
