Authorship Policy
Policy
Diklus: Jurnal Pendidikan Luar Sekolah follows the COPE Core Practice on authorship and contributorship. Authorship credits the people who are responsible for the work and who take accountability for it. All authors must agree on who is listed, and in what order, before the manuscript is submitted.
Who is an author
An author is a person who meets all of the following:
- Has made a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the work, or to the collection, analysis, or interpretation of the data.
- Has drafted the work or revised it critically for important intellectual content.
- Has approved the final version and agrees to be accountable for the work.
- Is able to identify which parts of the work were done by which co-authors, and is confident of their integrity.
People who contributed in other ways, such as technical help, data collection support, language editing, or general supervision, are named in the Acknowledgment, with their permission.
Authorship problems the journal does not accept
| Guest authorship | Naming a person who has not made a substantial contribution. |
| Gift authorship | Naming a person as a favour or because of seniority or position. |
| Ghost authorship | Omitting a person who has made a substantial contribution. |
Responsibilities of authors
- Agree on the author list and the order of names among all authors before submission.
- Name one corresponding author, who communicates with the journal and tells the co-authors about decisions and about requests from the editors.
- Describe each author’s contribution, using the CRediT taxonomy if possible.
- Give the affiliation of each author and, where possible, an ORCID iD.
- Do not list a person as an author without that person’s knowledge and consent.
Generative AI
AI tools cannot be listed as authors, because they cannot take responsibility for the work. Authors remain accountable for all content. Substantive use of AI must be disclosed. See the Generative AI Policy.
Changes to authorship
- Any change to the author list, such as adding, removing, or reordering authors, must be requested by the corresponding author before publication, with the reason for the change and the written agreement of all authors, including the author who is added or removed.
- The editors may pause the review or production while the request is assessed.
- After publication, a change is made only through a correction notice, with the agreement of all authors.
Disputes
The editors do not decide who deserves authorship. If the authors disagree, the editors pause the process and ask the institutions of the authors to examine the matter, following the relevant COPE guidance. Suspected authorship misconduct is handled under the Publication Ethics policy.
