Conflict of Interest Policy
Conflict of Interest Policy
Jurnal Ekonomi dan Pendidikan (JEP) is committed to maintaining transparency, fairness, and integrity in the publication process. All authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, professional, personal, or institutional interests that could influence, or be perceived to influence, their work or editorial decisions.
Responsibilities and Disclosure
Authors
Authors must disclose relevant conflicts of interest in their manuscripts and acknowledge all sources of research funding. If no conflict exists, authors should state:
“No potential conflict of interest was reported by the author(s).”
Reviewers
Reviewers must inform the editor of any potential conflict and decline the review when they cannot provide an objective assessment. Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and must not use unpublished information for personal or professional benefit.
Editors and Editorial Board Members
Editors and editorial board members must not handle manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest. Submissions by editors or editorial board members must be handled independently and undergo the same peer-review process as other submissions.
Publisher
The publisher supports editorial independence and ensures that publication decisions are based on academic quality, research integrity, and ethical standards, not on financial, institutional, or personal interests.
Handling Undisclosed Conflicts of Interest
Any undisclosed conflict of interest will be assessed fairly by the editorial team. Depending on its seriousness, JEP may take one or more of the following actions:
- Request additional disclosure or clarification
- Arrange an independent review
- Reject a manuscript
- Publish a correction
- Retract a published article
Serious cases may also be handled under the journal’s Research Misconduct Policy.
Related Policies
This policy should be read alongside JEP’s Publication Ethics, Peer Review Policy, Research Misconduct Policy, and Correction and Retraction Policy.
