Authorship Policy
Authorship and Contributorship Policy
1. Authorship Criteria
Authors must make substantial scholarly contributions to the research, participate in drafting or critically revising the manuscript, approve the final version, and accept responsibility for their contributions.
General supervision, funding alone, providing resources, proofreading, translation, or formatting do not independently qualify an individual for authorship. Contributors who do not meet the authorship criteria may be acknowledged with their permission.
The journal prohibits gift, guest, ghost, purchased, and coercive authorship. Artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors.
2. Author Order and Corresponding Author
The author order must be agreed upon by all authors and reflect their scholarly contributions. For research based on a student's thesis or dissertation, the student should normally be the first author when they have made the principal contribution and meet the authorship criteria.
The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the journal, ensuring that all authors approve the manuscript and author list, coordinating revisions, and responding to editorial inquiries.
3. Author Contributions and Information
Authors are encouraged to provide a clear statement of individual contributions, using the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT) where appropriate. Contribution statements must accurately reflect each author's work and do not replace the authorship criteria.
All submissions must include the full names of authors, institutional affiliations, countries, email addresses, and identification of the corresponding author. Author information in the manuscript must be consistent with the information entered in the journal's Open Journal Systems (OJS). Manuscripts must also follow the journal's blind peer-review requirements.
4. Changes to Authorship and Disputes
Requests to add, remove, or reorder authors must be submitted in writing to the editor, with a clear justification and agreement from all authors concerned. Changes require editorial approval. Requests made after acceptance or publication will be considered only in justified circumstances and may require a formal correction.
Authorship disputes should first be resolved through discussion among the authors. The journal may request supporting evidence, suspend the editorial process, or refer the matter to the relevant institution. Authorship must not be based solely on academic rank, seniority, or supervisory position.
5. Use of Artificial Intelligence
Authors using generative artificial intelligence tools must comply with the JEP AI Policy and disclose their use where required. AI tools cannot assume authorship or responsibility for scholarly work. Authors remain fully responsible for verifying all AI-assisted content, including references, data, interpretations, and research findings.
6. Author Responsibility and Editorial Independence
Published articles represent the views of their authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Editorial Board of the Jurnal Ekonomi dan Pendidikan (JEP) or the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta.
Authors are fully responsible for their work and must cooperate with the journal in addressing post-publication questions, correcting errors, and resolving research integrity concerns.
