Ethical Oversight & Child Subject Protection
Jurnal Pendidikan Anak adheres strictly to the Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) regarding research integrity and human ethical oversight.
Because Jurnal Pendidikan Anak specializes in research within early childhood education, teacher pedagogy, and child development, protecting the rights, safety, dignity, and privacy of young participants is paramount. Authors must conduct and report studies following institutional, national, and international ethics frameworks.
1. Research Involving Children & Vulnerable Groups
- Parental/Guardian Informed Consent: Written informed consent must be secured from parents or legal guardians before data collection. Child assent should also be obtained according to the child's developmental ability.
- Institutional Ethical Clearance: Empirical studies conducted in preschools, kindergartens, daycare centers, or community settings must obtain formal approval from an institutional review board or accredited ethics committee.
2. Child Privacy, Anonymity & Media Protection
- Data Anonymization: All personal identities of children, families, teachers, and specific early childhood institutions must be replaced with pseudonyms or anonymized codes.
- Visual Media Protection: Photographs or video recordings showing children must obscure facial features (blurred or blocked) unless explicit, written consent for unmasked media publication has been granted by parents/guardians.
