Plagiarism Screening Policy

Jurnal Pendidikan Anak (JPA) | PGPAUD Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta

Jurnal Pendidikan Anak (JPA) enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy against all forms of plagiarism and academic dishonesty. The editorial board is dedicated to maintaining the highest scholarly integrity in early childhood education research. Authors submitting manuscripts to JPA warrant that the submitted manuscript represents their original work, has not been published elsewhere, and contains no uncredited material.

Screening Tool & Similarity Threshold

Every submitted manuscript undergoes systematic originality verification before entering the peer-review process and prior to final publication:

  • Screening Software: Plagiarism screening is officially conducted using Turnitin plagiarism detection software.
  • Maximum Similarity Index: The maximum allowable overall similarity index is 15%.
  • Single Source Limit: Direct similarity from any single published source must not exceed 3%.

Forms of Plagiarism Prohibited

In accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) standards, JPA strictly prohibits:

Direct / Verbatim Plagiarism

Copying word-for-word text, hypotheses, ideas, or early childhood fieldwork instruments from another source without using quotation marks and complete attribution.

Self-Plagiarism & Duplicate Submission

Reusing substantial portions of the author's own previously published works without proper citation, or submitting the same manuscript concurrently to multiple venues.

Mosaic / Patchwork Plagiarism

Borrowing phrases from several external sources without citation, interweaving them into the text, or merely changing minor synonyms while retaining the original sentence structure.
