Analisis Perkembangan dan Dinamika Pendidikan Karakter dan Budaya Bangsa Indonesia: Sebuah Upaya Pencapaian Tujuan Pendidikan

The history of character education and national culture in Indonesia dates back to before the independence of Indonesia. Character education started from the traditional education system by emphasizing on life values, ethics, and morality both in formal education and non-formal education. In addition, the influence of religion also plays a major role in shaping the character and culture of the nation. After independence, character education and national culture received serious attention through integration in school learning. The achievement and development of character education and national culture experience dynamics due to several factors such as changes in social values, the influence of mass media. Limited resources, lack of awareness of the urgency of character education, and also religious and cultural differences as a multicultural nation. This article uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method from scientific sources. The results of the review analysis resulted in the development of character education theory and national culture has become a major concern in an effort to build a young generation that has moral values, ethics, and love for the nation's culture. Some efforts that can be made to instill and develop character education in formal education such as improving teacher training, developing a curriculum that is integrated with national character values, encouraging parental participation, collaborating with religious communities, social, and art groups, providing adequate educational resources.
