Publication Fee

Jurnal Ilmu Manajemen (JIM) is an open-access journal: every article is free for anyone to read and download. Because there is no subscription income, the costs of editorial management, similarity checking, copyediting, layout, DOI registration, and permanent hosting are met by a single charge payable only after a manuscript has been accepted.

ARTICLE PUBLICATION CHARGE

Payable only once a manuscript has been accepted for publication.

The charge of IDR 500,000 per accepted manuscript applies from Volume 21 (June 2024) onwards. Readers are never charged: access to every published article is free and immediate.

★ Waiver for Articles with Foreign Authors

The article publication charge is waived in full for an accepted article that includes at least one author affiliated with an institution outside Indonesia. A foreign author is an author from a country other than Indonesia. The waiver is applied automatically by the editorial office at the acceptance stage; authors do not need to apply for it.

The waiver reflects the journal's aim of bringing perspectives from Indonesia and other developing countries into dialogue with international scholarship, and it has no bearing whatever on editorial decisions: a manuscript with a foreign co-author is reviewed by exactly the same standards as any other.

$ How and When to Pay

Step 1 · Acceptance. When a manuscript is accepted, the editorial office sends the authors a notice of acceptance together with an invoice stating the amount payable, or confirming that the waiver applies.
Step 2 · Payment. Payment is made by bank transfer to the account named in the invoice, within 14 days of the notice of acceptance, quoting the submission ID as the reference.
Step 3 · Confirmation. Send proof of transfer to the editorial office by email, naming the submission ID and the title of the article. A receipt is issued on request, for authors who need one to claim the cost from their institution.
Step 4 · Production. Once payment is confirmed, the article proceeds to copyediting, proofreading by the authors, layout, and publication in the next available issue.

⚖ Terms

  • The charge is payable per accepted manuscript, not per author and not per page.
  • Manuscripts that are rejected, withdrawn before acceptance, or returned at the screening stage incur no charge at all.
  • Payment of the charge does not guarantee publication, and does not influence the review in any way. The decision on a manuscript is made before any invoice is issued.
  • The charge is not refundable once the article has entered production, except where the journal itself is unable to publish it.
  • Bank transfer charges, where they apply, are borne by the authors.
  • Authors receive the published article in open access under the journal's licence; there is no additional charge for colour figures, for extra pages, or for downloading the article.
✉ Questions about the charge. Write to the editorial office at jurnal.manajemen@uny.ac.id, quoting the submission ID. Authors who face genuine difficulty in meeting the charge are encouraged to write before the invoice falls due.
