Manuscript Templates

Every manuscript submitted to Jurnal Ilmu Manajemen (JIM) must use the official template for its manuscript type. The template sets the structure, headings, and formatting that the editors check at the initial screening stage. A manuscript submitted in a different template, or in a template that does not match its type, is returned to the author before review.

⚑ Language. Starting from Volume 23, Number 1 (2026), all articles published in this journal must be in English. Manuscripts in Indonesian are no longer accepted.

▣ Two Files for Every Submission

JIM uses double-anonymous peer review, so each manuscript type comes in two versions. Download both, and upload both at submission.

① Anonymous version
The manuscript that goes to the reviewers. Upload it in OJS as the Article Text. It must carry no author names, affiliations, emails, ORCID iDs, acknowledgements, or funding details.
② Version with full author details
The title page at submission, and the final version of the manuscript once the article is accepted. Upload it in OJS as a Supplementary File. It carries all author details and the complete end matter.

★ Original Research Article
Original empirical research with primary or secondary data collected and analysed by the authors. 7,000–9,000 words, 7–15 pages.
⬇ Anonymous version ⬇ With author details
▤ Systematic Literature Review
Synthesis of prior studies through a transparent, replicable protocol, reported against PRISMA 2020. 8,000–10,000 words, 10–20 pages.
⬇ Anonymous version ⬇ With author details
◈ Conceptual Article
Theory, model, typology, or framework built through reasoning and the integration of literature, without new empirical data. 6,000–8,000 words, 7–15 pages.
⬇ Anonymous version ⬇ With author details

All templates are Microsoft Word files (.docx). The word count and page count include the whole manuscript: all sections, tables, figures, and the reference list. For the required structure of each type, see Types of Manuscript.

✎ How to Use the Template

Step 1 · Choose the right type
Decide whether the work is an original research article, a systematic literature review, or a conceptual article, and download that type's two files. Do not mix sections from different templates.
Step 2 · Write over the guidance text
Each section of the template contains bracketed guidance, for example [PURPOSE] or [REVIEW GAP], describing what belongs there. Replace that guidance with your own text and delete the bracketed prompts. Keep the section headings and their order exactly as given.
Step 3 · Keep the formatting
Section headings in Times New Roman 12, bold, left-aligned, upper case; sub-headings in Times New Roman 11, bold. Tables are numbered with the caption above; figures are numbered with the caption below, in high resolution and legible when printed in black and white. Citations and the reference list follow APA 7th edition and should be managed with Mendeley or Zotero. Leave the Article History line in place: it is filled in by the editors.
Step 4 · Complete the end matter
Fill in every closing statement in the version with author details: Acknowledgement, Disclosure Statement, Funding, Data Availability Statement, Author Contributions, Ethics Approval and Informed Consent, Use of Generative AI, Notes on Contributors, and References. Write "None" or "Not applicable" where a statement does not apply, rather than deleting it.
Step 5 · Anonymise and submit
Prepare the anonymous version using the checklist below, then upload the anonymous file as the Article Text and the version with author details as a Supplementary File.

◯ Anonymisation Checklist

Before uploading the anonymous version, confirm that it contains none of the following:

On the first page Author names, affiliations, correspondence email, ORCID iDs.
In the body Self-identifying phrases such as "as we showed in our earlier study"; replace them with a neutral third-person citation, or with "[Author, year]".
In the end matter Acknowledgements, funding details, grant numbers, ethics approval numbers naming the institution, and Notes on Contributors.
In the file Author names in the file name, and identifying information in the document properties. In Word, use File > Info > Check for Issues > Inspect Document, then remove the document properties and personal information.
⚠ Note. A manuscript that is not properly anonymised is returned to the author for technical correction, which delays the review. The details removed here are not lost: they remain in the version with author details.
