Abstract

Ammonia levels in water wells in Kota Baru, Jambi Province, affect the quality of the community’s primary source of clean water. Sampling was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method at three different locations, i.e. residential wells, office wells, and industrial wells. The analysis was conducted at the Environmental Laboratory of the Jambi City Environmental Agency using the Fenat method to determine ammonia levels. The results show that ammonia levels at all locations were below the established safe threshold of 0.5 mg N/L, with the highest ammonia concentration found in drinking water from industrial wells. Nevertheless, well water quality must continue to be monitored regularly to prevent further contamination.
