Abstract

This study aims to (1) determine the necessity of a learning leadership model for vocational school principals to realize student well-being in the context of Merdeka Belajar, (2) develop a theoretically and empirically valid learning leadership model for vocational high school principals (SMK) to achieve student well-being within the context of Merdeka Belajar, and (3) assess the effectiveness of the learning leadership model for vocational high school principals in achieving student well-being within the Merdeka Belajar framework. This research employed the Research and Development method, consisting of four phases: the initial phase, the planning phase, the testing, evaluation, and revision phase, and the implementation phase. The testing subjects in this research were carried out in three stages, namely an initial trial involving 10 experts and education practitioners. Data collection techniques were conducted through focus group discussions, questionnaires, documents, observations, and interviews. The validity and reliability of the questionnaire instruments used expert validation. The validity of qualitative data was confirmed through informant review and data triangulation models. Quantitative data analysis was done using descriptive analysis techniques, while qualitative data was analyzed using an interactive analysis model. The research findings indicate that the KPK-SW model is highly necessary. The level of importance according to users, including the Head of the Education Department of DIY scored 4.44, school supervisors scored 4.39, evaluations from the Secondary Education Office scored 3.32, and education experts scored 4.38. The total average score is 4.38, meaning that this model is very important and suitable for use.
