Five decades of education research at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta

Jurnal Kependidikan has been published continuously since 1975, first by IKIP Yogyakarta and now by Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. As COPE recommends, earlier titles and identifiers are listed below so readers can trace the journal's record.

011975–1980: Beginnings
  • 1975: first published.
  • 1980: obtained its publication permit (STT No. 755/P/SK/DITJEN PPG/STT/1980, 6 July 1980) as Jurnal Kependidikan IKIP Yogyakarta, ISSN 0125-992X.
021982–1996: Focus on research
  • 1982: renamed Jurnal Kependidikan; priority given to research-based articles.
  • 1985: scope widened to include non-educational fields, especially school teaching materials.
  • 1991: each issue began to carry an article on research approaches and methodology.
  • 1995–1996: non-educational research moved to separate journals; the journal has published education research only since then.
032001–2019: Accreditation
  • 2001: accredited by DIKTI (Decree No. 118/DIKTI/Kep/2001, 9 May 2001).
  • 2015: re-accredited (No. 12/M/Kp/II/2015, 11 February 2015); English-language articles introduced.
  • 2019: re-accredited (No. 35/E/KPT/2019).

Published online only as Jurnal Kependidikan: Penelitian Inovasi Pembelajaran, accredited SINTA 3, and indexed in DOAJ.
