Conflict of Interest

Conflict of Interest Policy

Jurnal Economia requires everyone involved in the publication process—authors, reviewers, and editors—to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the objectivity of scientific work, in accordance with COPE and ICMJE standards. The core principle is: when in doubt, disclose.

Scope of Conflict of Interest

Conflicts of interest may be:

    • Financial: Funding, grants, salaries, honoraria, shares, or financial support from parties relevant to the research.
    • Non-Financial: Personal/family relationships, institutional affiliations, political ties, academic rivalries, or research relationships with participants (e.g., conducting research on one's own students or institution).

Guidelines for Authors

    • Authors must include a Disclosure Statement at the end of the manuscript.
    • Funding sources and the role of the funder must be clearly explained in the Funding section.

Guidelines for Reviewers & Editors

  • Reviewers must decline the invitation to review if they have family relationships, share the same institutional affiliation, have collaborated within the past 3 years, or have financial/academic conflicts with the authors.
  • Editors must not handle manuscripts where they have a potential conflict of interest. Manuscripts authored by editorial board members will be handled independently by another editor through a double-anonymous review process.

Undisclosed Conflicts and Actions

Failure or deliberate failure to disclose conflicts of interest may result in manuscript rejection, publication of a correction notice (corrigendum), or article retraction for published works.
