Post-Publication Discussion and Correction
Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika dan Sains maintains the integrity of the scholarly record by allowing readers to discuss published articles, raise concerns, and request corrections. All changes to published articles are documented through formal notices linked to the original publication. Articles are never altered silently.
1. Comments and Replies
Readers may submit scholarly comments on published articles, and the original authors may be invited to respond. Comments must focus on the scientific content of the article, maintain a professional tone, and disclose any conflicts of interest. Submissions are screened by the editorial team and may be reviewed by an independent reviewer. Accepted comments and replies are published together where possible.
2. Research Integrity Concerns
Concerns involving plagiarism, data fabrication or manipulation, duplicate publication, authorship disputes, undisclosed conflicts of interest, ethical violations, or other forms of publication misconduct are handled confidentially. The editorial team assesses the evidence, requests explanations from the authors when appropriate, and may refer the matter to the authors' institutions or relevant authorities.
3. Corrections and Retractions
Depending on the nature and severity of an identified problem, the journal may issue an erratum, corrigendum, expression of concern, or retraction. Retraction is considered when research findings are unreliable or serious publication ethics violations have occurred. Published articles remain part of the scholarly record, with appropriate notices explaining the action taken.
4. Correction Requests
Authors or readers may request corrections by identifying the article, specifying the error, proposing the corrected text, and explaining its impact on the research findings. The editorial team evaluates the request and determines the appropriate action in consultation with the authors and, where necessary, independent experts.
5. Responsibilities
Authors are expected to report significant errors and cooperate with editorial investigations. Readers and reviewers should raise concerns responsibly and provide supporting evidence. Editors must handle cases fairly, promptly, and confidentially, while the publisher ensures that correction notices remain accessible and linked to the original articles.
