Mengungkap Miskonsepsi Siswa pada Materi Perbandingan melalui Four-tier Diagnostic Test

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendiagnosis miskonsepsi siswa pada materi perbandingan menggunakan four-tier diagnostic test. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus yang melibatkan 34 siswa kelas VII di salah satu SMP di Kota Cirebon. Instrumen penelitian terdiri atas 10 butir soal diagnostik dan pedoman wawancara. Respons siswa dikategorikan berdasarkan kombinasi jawaban, alasan, dan tingkat keyakinan pada empat tingkat ke dalam kategori paham konsep, kurang paham konsep, dan miskonsepsi. Persentase setiap kategori dihitung berdasarkan indikator materi, kemudian hasil tes ditriangulasi dengan wawancara untuk mengidentifikasi faktor penyebab miskonsepsi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 61,76% siswa mengalami miskonsepsi, sedangkan 35,59% paham konsep. Miskonsepsi tertinggi ditemukan pada perbandingan berbalik nilai yang menunjukkan kesulitan siswa membedakan hubungan senilai dan berbalik nilai. Faktor penyebab meliputi lemahnya penguasaan konsep prasyarat, penggunaan rumus tanpa pemahaman relasional, dan kesulitan memaknai rasio sebagai hubungan bagian-keseluruhan. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa instrumen dapat menjadi dasar perancangan intervensi pembelajaran tepat sasaran.
