Post Publication Discussion
Published research is open to scholarly discussion. JPK welcomes comments from readers, authors, and reviewers that help keep published work accurate, and it handles concerns about published articles openly and fairly.
- A published article is not changed silently. Any important change is made through a public notice.
- Corrections aim to improve the scholarly record, not to punish authors.
- All parties are treated fairly, and authors can always respond.
- Length: up to 1,000 words.
- Send within 12 months after the article was published. Later comments may be considered if they are especially important.
- Language: English or Indonesian.
- Title: "Comment on: [article title]", with the DOI of the article.
- Focus on the content of the article, not on the authors personally. Use respectful, evidence-based language.
- Declare any conflict of interest, including any relationship with the authors. See Conflict of Interest.
- Send the comment to the editorial office by email, with the article title and DOI.
- The editors check that the comment is relevant, respectful, and adds something new. Comments that are off-topic, repetitive, offensive, or personal attacks are declined, with a reason.
- The authors of the article are invited to reply.
- The editors review the comment and the reply.
- If accepted, the comment and the reply are published together, and linked to the original article. If the authors do not reply, the comment may be published with a note that the authors were invited to reply.
If the discussion shows a significant error or a serious concern, the editors follow the procedure in Correction and Retraction. Depending on the case, this can be a correction notice, an expression of concern, or a retraction.
Send comments, correction requests, or concerns to the Editor in Chief at the editorial office, with the article title and DOI:
