Manuscript Type
Jurnal Manajemen Pendidikan (JuMP) accepts two types of manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of school management and leadership. Authors should select the manuscript type that best reflects their study and follow the journal's submission guidelines.
1. Empirical Research Article
7–12 pages Qualitative Quantitative Mixed Methods
An empirical research article reports original research findings based on systematically collected and analyzed data. The study must address issues related to school management or leadership and demonstrate clear theoretical or practical contributions.
- Research design: Qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods research.
- Structure: Introduction, Method, Results and Discussion, and Conclusion (IMRaD).
- Abstract: 100–200 words in English.
- References: At least 25 references, with a minimum of 80% published within the preceding five years.
- Contribution: Clear findings and implications for educational management theory, policy, or practice.
2. Meta-analysis
Quantitative Synthesis Systematic Methods
A meta-analysis systematically identifies, evaluates, and quantitatively synthesizes findings from multiple empirical studies to answer a clearly defined research question in school management or leadership.
- Research question: Clearly defined and relevant to the journal's focus and scope.
- Literature search: Transparent search strategies, databases, search terms, and eligibility criteria.
- Study selection: Clear inclusion and exclusion criteria, with a documented selection process.
- Data extraction: Systematic extraction of relevant study characteristics and quantitative findings.
- Statistical synthesis: Appropriate effect-size calculation, pooled analysis, and assessment of heterogeneity.
- Reporting: Transparent reporting, preferably following relevant PRISMA guidelines.
- Interpretation: Discussion of findings, study limitations, and implications for educational management and leadership.
Important: A literature review without quantitative meta-analysis is not considered an eligible meta-analysis manuscript.
Manuscripts Not Accepted
JuMP does not currently process the following types of manuscripts:
- Narrative literature reviews and standalone literature reviews without meta-analysis.
- Manuscripts outside the journal's focus and scope.
- Manuscripts without sufficient empirical evidence or a clear research contribution.
- Previously published manuscripts or manuscripts simultaneously submitted to another journal.
This policy follows the journal's announcement regarding the acceptance of empirical research and meta-analysis manuscripts.
