Author Guidelines

Manuscripts submitted to Informasi must follow these guidelines and be prepared with the journal's manuscript template. Manuscripts that do not follow them may be returned to the authors before review. Please also read the Types of Manuscript, Publication Ethics, and Article Publication Fee(s) pages.

1. General Requirements

Originality: The manuscript reports original work that has not been published and is not under consideration elsewhere.
Language: English.
Length: 5,000–8,000 words for the Abstract to the Conclusion, excluding references.
File and layout: Microsoft Word (.docx), using the journal template: A4 paper, Cambria 12 pt, single line spacing.
Title: Concise and informative, 10–14 words.
Abstract: 150–200 words in English, one paragraph without subheadings, covering the objectives, methods, main findings, and conclusions.
Keywords: 3–5 specific terms, separated by commas.
References: At least 15 references published within the last 10 years, preferably peer-reviewed journal articles, in APA style (7th edition), managed with a reference manager.

2. Structure of the Manuscript

Title page: Full names, affiliations (institution and country), email addresses, and ORCID iDs of all authors, with the corresponding author marked.
Introduction: The research problem, its significance, and the position of the study in existing knowledge; no more than 20% of the manuscript.
Literature Review: A critical synthesis of relevant theories and recent studies that identifies the research gap.
Methods: The research design, subjects or context, data collection, and step-by-step analysis; no more than 10% of the manuscript.
Results and Discussion: Findings supported by evidence, followed by their interpretation in relation to theory and previous studies.
Conclusion: Answers to the research questions, the main contributions, limitations, and directions for future research.
Acknowledgements (if any): People and institutions who contributed but do not meet the criteria for authorship.
Declarations: The statements listed in Section 3.
References: APA style (7th edition), in alphabetical order.

3. Required Statements

From Vol. 56 No. 2 (December 2026), every manuscript includes the following statements after the Acknowledgements and before the References, as provided in the template:

Author Contributions: The role of each author, using the CRediT taxonomy (see Authorship Policies).
Funding: The funding body and grant number, or "This research received no external funding."
Declaration of Competing Interest: Any competing interests, or "The authors declare no competing interests." (see Conflicts of Interest).
Ethics Approval and Informed Consent: The ethics committee and approval number for research with human participants, the reason approval was not required, or "Not applicable." (see Research Misconduct Policy).
AI Usage Statement: How any generative AI tool was used, or "The authors did not use generative AI tools in the preparation of this manuscript." (see Generative AI Policy).

4. Preparing an Anonymised Manuscript

Informasi uses double-anonymous review (see Peer Review Process). The manuscript file uploaded for review must not contain author names, affiliations, email addresses, ORCID iDs, acknowledgements, or self-citations and file properties that reveal the authors' identity. Author details are entered in the submission form and restored after acceptance.

5. Citations and References

In-text citations use the author's surname and year, for example (Grunig, 2006) or Atkinson (2004, p. 110). Every source cited in the text must appear in the reference list, and every entry in the list must be cited. Give the DOI as a URL whenever available. 6. Tables, Figures, and Interview Excerpts

Tables and figures are numbered, given informative titles (Cambria 11 pt, italics), placed in the text where they belong, and referred to in the text (e.g., "Table 1", "Figure 1"). Sources are stated below each table or figure.
Interview excerpts of fewer than four lines are embedded in the text in quotation marks; longer excerpts are set as an indented block. Informants are identified by initials or pseudonyms only.
Screenshots of media content must not be altered, and permission is obtained where required.

7. Before You Submit

Manuscripts are screened with plagiarism-detection software; the maximum overall similarity is 20% (see Plagiarism Policy).
All authors have approved the manuscript and agreed to its submission.
The anonymised manuscript is uploaded through the online submission system, and all author details are entered in the submission form.
