Abstract

Hasil pembelajaran yang dirasakan selama ini untuk siswa
dinilai kurang memberikan bekal hidup para lulusan, baik SD, SLTP,
maupun SMU. Peserta didik lebih disibukkan pada kemampuan aspek
kognitif saja. Guru juga hanya terpaku memberikan bekal
pengetahuan, karena memang materi yang digariskan . dalam
kurikulum sangat padat. Akibatnya banyak siswa setelah mendapat
pelajaran hanya hafal dan tahu, tetapi tidak terampilmenerapkan
dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Anak SD tahu betul ten tang ciri-ciri
anak soleh, tetapi kurang dapat menerapkan dalam kehidupan sehari­
hari. ltu sekedar contoh gamlang yang dapat dilihat setiap hari.
Untuk itu Kurikulum Berbasis Kompetensi diharapkan dapat
menjawab kegalauan masyarakat dengan membekali peserta didik
dengan life skills education atau pendidikan kecapakan hidup.
