Data Availability Policy

Widyakara Journal encourages authors to make the data behind their findings available, so that readers can check and build on published work.

1. Data Availability Statement

Every article includes a Data Availability Statement saying where the data can be found and on what terms. Examples:

  • "The data that support the findings are openly available in Zenodo at https://doi.org/…"
  • "The questionnaire and anonymised dataset are available from the corresponding author on reasonable request."
  • "The interview transcripts are not publicly available because they contain information that could identify participants."
  • "Not applicable: no new data were created or analysed in this study."

2. Where to Deposit Data

Authors are encouraged to deposit data and instruments in a recognised repository that issues a persistent identifier, such as Zenodo, Figshare, OSF, or an institutional repository, and to cite the dataset in the reference list.

3. Sensitive and Restricted Data

Data that could identify participants or organisations, or that are owned by a third party, need not be shared openly. Authors explain the restriction in the statement and describe how bona fide researchers may request access.

4. Requests from the Editor

During review or after publication, the editor may ask authors to provide the raw data, instruments, or analysis files. Authors keep these for at least five years after publication. Failure to provide data when concerns are raised may be handled under Research Misconduct.
