SOCIA: Jurnal Ilmu-Ilmu Sosial is a fully Gold Open Access journal. All articles published in SOCIA are made immediately and permanently accessible to the public free of charge, without registration barriers or paywalls.
This policy aligns with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) definition of open access. Free access to research supports a greater global exchange of knowledge, promotes educational equity, and accelerates scientific discovery in the social sciences.

Author self-archiving policy
SOCIA supports self-archiving and allows authors to deposit all versions of their work in institutional or subject repositories without embargo:

Preservation and machine readability
- — Digital Object Identifiers (DOI): Every article is assigned a Crossref DOI for permanent resolution.
- — OAI-PMH Harvesting: Article metadata is freely harvestable by indexing databases via OAI-PMH protocols.
- — Long-term Preservation: Content is digitally preserved in PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), LOCKSS/CLOCKSS systems, and Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta Institutional Repository.
