Plagiarism Policy
Jurnal Keolahragaan applies zero tolerance to plagiarism. Plagiarism is the use or close imitation of the language and ideas of another author, presented as one's own original work. It includes self-plagiarism and duplicate submission.
Originality requirements
- Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
- Text taken verbatim from another source must be marked with quotation marks or indentation and cited.
- Reproducing more than two or three sentences of text, or any figure or table, from another source requires permission from the copyright holder and a citation.
Similarity check
Every submitted manuscript is checked with Turnitin before review. The editor handling the manuscript decides on the action based on the similarity index:
| Similarity index | Action |
|---|---|
| Below 10% | The manuscript proceeds to review. The editor may still ask the authors to add missing citations. |
| 10% to 40% | The manuscript is returned to the authors. They must cite all overlapping sources, paraphrase properly, and resubmit with a new Turnitin report showing a similarity index below 10%. |
| Above 40% | The manuscript is rejected and may not be resubmitted. |
Reuse of the authors' own work
- Authors who reuse their previously published text or figures must identify and cite the earlier publication and obtain permission from the copyright holder where needed. Material from review articles and tutorial papers is expected to draw on earlier work.
- Overlap of half or more of the paper with another submission or publication, including identical or nearly identical figures, is treated as severe plagiarism. If the overlap involves a manuscript submitted to another journal at the same time, the editor of that journal is informed.
- Self-plagiarism of more than one tenth but less than half of the paper is treated as intermediate plagiarism. Overlap limited to the Methods section is treated as minor.
- A paper that was first published in conference proceedings, in identical or expanded form, must identify the proceedings and publication date and include permission from the copyright holder. The editor may decide not to accept it. Material from an unpublished presentation may be used.
- A paper that was first published in another language must identify the title, date, and journal of the original publication, with permission from the copyright holder.
Responsibility and sanctions
Authors are responsible for the content of their manuscripts and confirm its originality when they submit. Plagiarism found after publication is handled under our R-W-C Policy and may lead to correction or retraction. If severe plagiarism by the same authors is found a second time, the editorial board decides on further measures, which may include a ban on future submissions.
