Implementation of the ethical value of self-control in addressing students’ sad ripu behaviors

This study aims to describe the role of the ethical value of self-control and identify the methods and strategies used to implement it in reducing students’ Sad Ripu behaviors. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving Hindu religious education teachers and seventh-grade students as participants. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the ethical value of self-control is instilled through discipline, advice, teacher role modeling, and the integration of ethical values into the learning process. The methods and strategies employed include communication, habituation, reinforcement, and continuous reflection on students’ attitudes. These practices support teachers and schools in fostering self-control and encouraging students to behave in accordance with school norms. In conclusion, implementing the ethical value of self-control may contribute to the development of more positive, controlled, and responsible student behavior in everyday school life.
