Pendekatan STEM berbantuan Geogebra pada materi Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel untuk meningkatkan representasi matematis

Abstract


Telah banyak upaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa dalam pembelajaran Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel (SPLDV). Namun, belum ditemukan penelitian yang berupaya meningkatkan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa dalam materi Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel menggunakan pendekatan STEM berbantuan Geogebra. Untuk mengisi kekosongan penelitian, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa menggunakan pendekatan STEM berbantuan Geogebra pada materi Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel. Jenis penelitian adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) melalui dua siklus dengan tiap siklus terdiri dua pertemuan. Subjek penelitian melibatkan sebanyak 32 siswa di MTs Mu’allimin Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes representasi matematis, lembar observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada siklus I rata-rata hasil representasi matematis siswa sebesar 54,16% dan siklus II rata-ratanya sebesar 76,04% sehingga terjadi peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa. Signifikansi dari penelitian ini adalah 1) bagi guru, memudahkan dan membantu guru meningkatkan kreativitas dalam menyampaikan materi Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel kepada siswa dengan beragam model atau pendekatan dan 2) bagi sekolah, memberikan pelatihan bagi guru-guru untuk merancang pembelajaran matematika yang inovatif.
