This journal has been ACCREDITED by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Rank 1, Sinta 1) since 2025 to 2029 according to decree No. 295/C/C3/KPT/2026.

 

Jurnal Penelitian dan Evaluasi Pendidikan is a showcase of original, rigorously conducted educational measurement, assessment, and evaluation. The journal particularly covers manuscripts within the following areas: instrument development, performance assessment, testing management, program evaluation, policy analysis, and research methodology development in educational settings.

 

Journal History

Jurnal Penelitian dan Evaluasi Pendidikan was originally titled Jurnal Penelitian dan Evaluasi and published by the Graduate School of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (formerly the Program Pascasarjana Institut Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Yogyakarta). The first issue of the journal was released in 1998, bearing the ISSN 1410-4725 (print).

In 2004, the journal entered into a collaboration with the Indonesian Association of Educational Evaluation (Himpunan Evaluasi Pendidikan Indonesia, HEPI), which led to a change in its title to Jurnal Penelitian dan Evaluasi Pendidikan. This partnership was formalized in 2018 through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) No. 5835b/UN34.17/DN/2018.

Due to a discrepancy between the registered title of the journal under ISSN 1410-4725 (print) and the title in active use, the Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (LIPI)–the institution responsible for ISSN registration– recommended that the publisher cease using the ISSN 1410-4725 (print) and apply for a new ISSN under the journal’s official title, Jurnal Penelitian dan Evaluasi Pendidikan. As a result, the final issue published with ISSN 1410-4725 (print) was Vol. 22, No. 1, 2018 (June). In the subsequent issue, Vol. 22, No. 2, 2018 (December), the journal adopted the ISSN 2338-6061 (online). Starting with Vol. 23, No. 1, 2019 (June), the journal began using the new ISSN 2685-7111 (print).
