Cakrawala Pendidikan, with ISSN: 0216-1370, was first published in March 1981 by the Institute of Research and Community Service of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (LPM UNY). In 1999, LPM UNY changed its name into Community Service Organization (LPM UNY). In 2008. LPPM UNY cooperated with the Association of Indonesian Education Scholars (ISPI) in publishing Cakrawala Pendidikan. Starting from 2011 until now, Cakrawala Pendidikan was published by the Institute of Education Development and Quality Assurance (LPPMP UNY). Its name remains the same although issued by different publishers from time to time. Starting from 2015 it is assigned Electronic ISSN 2442-8620. It has been indexed by Scopus since 2018 and DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) as well as EBSCO since 2017.
