Abstract

Penelitian memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi dari siswa terhadap mata pelajaran peminatan dilihat faktor internal dan eksternal. Mata pelajaran Peminatan adalah mata pelajaran baru dalam rangka mewadahi minat siswa, dan minat adalah sebuah hal yang subjektif bagi siswa sehingga persepsi siswa menjadi fokus perhatian peneliti. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan instrumen angket. Populasi penelitian adalah kelas XI Teknik Kendaraan Ringan Otomotif SMKN 2 Yogyakarta sebanyak 138 siswa dan diambil sampel 102 siswa. Angket terdiri dari dua aspek: (1) Faktor internal terkait kemampuan berpikir, perhatian, motivasi, minat, harapan, dan pengalaman; (2) Faktor eksternal terkait guru, sarana, prasarana, dan teman. Pengujian validitas ahli melibatkan dosen Psikologi Pendidikan dan Bimbingan dan dosen pembimbing. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persepsi siswa dilihat dari faktor internal sebesar 19,61% masuk kategori sangat positif, 29,41% kategori positif, 35,29% kategori negatif, dan 15,69% kategori sangat negatif. Sedangkan dari faktor eksternal persepsi sebesar 16,67% pada kategori sangat positif, 32,35% persentase positif, 39,22% negatif, dan 11,76% sangat negatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa persentase terbesar persepsi siswa masuk dalam kategori negatif, dengan item yang menjadi perhatian terkait kemampuan berpikir, perhatian, motivasi, pengalaman, harapan, sarana, dan prasarana. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan peningkatan baik dalam hal kompetensi guru, sarana dan prasarana, interaksi guru dan siswa, dan juga evaluasi secara berkala pada mata pelajaran Peminatan, sehingga persepsi siswa dapat menjadi positif.

This study has the purpose understanding students' perceptions of Interest-Based Subjects from both internal and external factors. Interest-Based Subjects are newly introduced to accommodate students' interests, making their perceptions a key focus. The study employed a descriptive quantitative method with a questionnaire as the instrument. The research population consisted of 138 eleventh-grade students from the Light Vehicle Engineering program at SMKN 2 Yogyakarta, with a sample of 102 students. The questionnaire covered two aspects: (1) Internal factors, including thinking ability, attention, motivation, interest, expectations, and experience; (2) External factors, including teachers, facilities, infrastructure, and peers. Expert validity testing involved Educational Psychology and Guidance lecturers and academic advisors. Results indicated that for internal factors, 19.61% of students' perceptions were very positive, 29.41% were positive, 35.29% were negative, and 15.69% were very negative. Regarding external factors, 16.67% were very positive, 32.35% were positive, 39.22% were negative, and 11.76% were very negative. The findings reveal that the largest percentage of students' perceptions falls into the negative category, with items of concern including thinking ability, attention, motivation, experience, expectations, facilities, and infrastructure. Therefore, improvements are needed in terms of teacher competence, facilities and infrastructure, teacher-student interaction, and regular evaluation of Interest-Based Subjects, so that students' perceptions can become positive.
